Cookies and storage

Propiler only stores what it needs to work. There are no analytics, tracking or advertising cookies, so there is nothing to consent to.

Cookies

The Propiler web app (my.propiler.app) and the admin console set no cookies of their own. If you use “Continue with Google”, the sign-in page on auth.propiler.app (run by Amazon Cognito) sets cookies on that address that are needed to complete the sign-in.

Storage in your browser

The web app keeps some information in your browser’s local storage. All of it is needed for a service you asked for, and it never leaves your device except as part of using Propiler.

  • Keeping you signed in — your sign-in session from Amazon Cognito, until you sign out, and a short-lived state while a Google sign-in completes.

  • Saved accounts — if you add more than one account to this browser (up to five): each account’s own session, and a list of the saved accounts (name, email address and when it was last used — never a password) so you can switch between them. Everything else in this list is kept separately for each account. A school login is forgotten when the browser is closed, unless you chose “Remember on this computer”.

  • Working without a connection — changes not yet sent to the server, and a copy of your trees and their open/closed state so pages load at once and nothing is lost when the connection drops.

  • Remembering your choices on this device — colour theme, menu layout, tree size, panel sizes, the equipment view, the workspace and organization you last used, the label size and label printer you picked, and whether help dots are shown.

  • Accepting an invitation — kept in session storage only while the tab is open.

  • Notifications — only if you turn on browser notifications: a service worker and a push subscription so notifications can reach you, which of your workspaces you turned them on for, and the names of the saved accounts with a count of new notifications for each, so a notification can say which account it is for.

The admin console keeps only the sign-in session. The iOS app stores its data on the device in the same way, for the same reasons.

Removing it

Signing out of an account (or removing it on the Account page) turns off its notifications in this browser and removes its sign-in session and everything this browser kept for it; your other saved accounts stay. “Sign out of all accounts” removes everything for every account. You can also clear everything in your browser’s settings for my.propiler.app; Propiler then simply starts with its defaults. Unsent offline changes are lost if you sign out or clear storage before they are sent.
